NSIAAA Assistant Activity Director of the Year
FHS Heidi Moran received award
Fremont, Neb. – (Mar. 11, 2020) Today Fremont High School’s Assistant Activity Director Heidi Moran received the great honor of being named the Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Assistant Activity Director of the Year. Moran started working at Fremont High School in 1996 as the head girls and assistant boys tennis coach and a part-time physical education teacher. She became a full time physical education teacher in 2001 and continued coaching girls tennis. Moran has served as the Assistant Activities Director since 2005.
During her time at Fremont High School Moran has organized and led the Back to School Bash, Letter Club, Annual Pink Out Event and coordinates the collegiate letter of intent signings. She has been involved as a sponsor for dance team and cheerleading and coordinated concessions for volleyball and basketball games. Moran developed many physical education courses including the PE Mentoring program for adaptive physical education.
Fremont High School Principal, Scott Jensen says, “Mrs. Moran is an exemplary teacher and is able to work with, motivate and relate to students that have had diverse life experiences. She is a firm believer that establishing positive relationships with kids, and building trust with them, will pay off as they mature and grow both as students and as young adults.”
