FPS Announces New Washington Elementary Principal
Erica Kobza succeeding Diane Stevens
Fremont, Neb. – (Apr. 13, 2020) Fremont Public Schools is announcing the retirement of Diane Stevens and the appointment of Erica Kobza as the Principal at Washington Elementary. Stevens is retiring after thirty years of service to Fremont Public Schools.
Stevens started her career as a 2nd grade teacher in 1990 and has served the district in various roles including ELL teacher, reading specialist and district elementary literacy coordinator. “I want to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to Fremont Public Schools. I have had an amazing career, one that I will reflect on with joy and pride!” said Stevens.
Erica Kobza is currently serving as a Dean of Students at Fremont High School. Her duties as Principal will begin on July 1, 2021. “I am incredibly humbled to be following in Diane’s footsteps as principal at Washington School. When I started my journey with Fremont Public Schools, Washington’s students, families, and staff immediately found a place in my heart. I cannot wait to serve the school community alongside the staff at Washington school.”
