Jessica Sorensen

Fremont, Neb. – (Feb. 28, 2025) Fremont Public Schools is pleased to announce that Jessica Sorensen will be joining the administrative team as the Assistant Director of Special Education and Principal of the Pathfinder Program. Sorensen will replace Heather Beekman who resigned to take a position at Wahoo Public Schools.

Sorensen has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Peru State College and a Master’s degree from Morningside College. Sorensen has been with the district for 10 years, serving as a teacher in the Pathfinder Program.

With her unwavering dedication, deep understanding of our students' needs, and a proven track record of excellence in the classroom, we are confident that she will continue to be an asset in providing the best opportunities for our students," said Joel Kerkman, director of special education.

Sorensen will begin her new role on July 1, 2025.
