Our Mission
The mission of the Fremont Public School Foundation is to support the Fremont Public Schools.
The Fremont Public School Foundation works directly to support our local public schools beyond what tax funding can provide. Our mission is rooted in practical action: we raise funds for educational enhancement programs, recognize student excellence across the district, and continuously work to improve educational quality for all students.
We serve as a connection point between our schools and the broader community, strengthening these relationships to benefit both. By supporting educational excellence, we contribute to improving quality of life throughout Fremont.
Beyond these impactful projects, the Foundation serves as a bridge between private donors and the needs of the school district, allowing booster clubs, elementary schools, and specialized programs to benefit from additional funding. Its contributions have made it possible for students to have greater access to technology, such as the Big Give for iPads project, which placed over 350 iPads in elementary classrooms, and the Chromebooks for Kids initiative, which provided more than 750 Chromebooks for students in grades 5-12. Most recently, two major projects were the Career Technical Education Center Sustainability Campaign, which so far has received more than $2 million in donation commitments, and the FHS Athletic Stadium Project, which raised more than $1.2 million. By continuously seeking ways to support and enhance the educational experience, the Fremont Public Schools Foundation not only strengthens the future of its students but also enriches the entire Fremont community.
Our Purpose
Our foundation exists with a clear purpose: to create educational opportunities that would not otherwise be possible, ensuring that Fremont Public Schools can provide the best possible education for every student.
Since its inception, the Foundation has played a crucial role in bringing meaningful improvements to Fremont Public Schools. It has funded major upgrades to the Nell McPherson Theatre at Fremont High School, enhancing the lighting, sound, and stage equipment to support student performances and arts education. In a continued commitment to student safety, the Foundation provided and installed Automated External Defibrillators in every school building, including Bergan and Trinity. It has also been a driving force behind innovative learning initiatives, such as the Creative Teaching Grant program, which awards annual grants to educators for cutting-edge teaching strategies and classroom technology. The Foundation's efforts include recognizing excellence in public education, as seen in the annual Academic Achievement Celebration, which recognizes outstanding seniors and their dedicated faculty mentors.
