Creative Teaching Grants

Inspiring Innovation in Every Classroom
Launched in the 2009–10 school year, the Creative Teaching Grants program empowers Fremont Public Schools educators to design and implement hands‑on projects that deepen student learning, extend the curriculum beyond the traditional classroom, and foster innovation in instructional strategies. Grants may be applied to materials, specialized training, equipment, or unique programming—giving teachers the flexibility to tailor experiences that address diverse learner needs and ignite curiosity at all grade levels.
Since inception, the Foundation has invested more than $63,000 into Creative Teaching Grants, distributing thousands of dollars each year to dozens of teachers across elementary, middle, and high schools. In the 2021–22 cycle alone, sixteen educators received nearly $7,000 to fund projects ranging from interactive white‑board applications and STEM exploration kits to kinesthetic math manipulatives and high‑ability writing festivals. Most recently, the 2024–25 grants totaled $3,473.98 and impacted over 750 students—supporting robotics superkits, multisensory reading tools, and cultural‑immersion field experiences that bring learning to life .
Funded primarily through memorial and honorariums, Creative Teaching Grants honor the legacies of community members while ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly into classrooms. The Creative Teaching Grant program exemplifies our community’s commitment to stronger schools, a stronger Fremont, and a brighter future for every student.
