Fremont Public Schools Bond Issue 

Bond Issue Update

 

Fremont, Neb. – (Feb. 24, 2023)  Fremont Public Schools continues to move forward with plans for the $123 million bond issue that was passed by citizens in September 2021. FPS meets with the BVH Design Team and contractors weekly, updating the Board of Education monthly, and updating the Board of Education Facilities Committee monthly. 

 

High School / CTE Project Update: 

The final GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) has been agreed upon by the district and Hausmann Construction and was presented to the Board of Education at the February 13th meeting and approved.  Site construction for the new football field and track replacement is still underway.  The main site fencing for the CTE addition has been installed. Overall project completion is slated to finish Spring/Summer of 2024.

 

Washington, Howard, and Clarmar Elementary Project Update: 

Steel and CMU work is in progress at Howard Elementary with the first wing and gymnasium out of the ground. Underground utilities are underway at Washington Elementary as weather permits, foundations are to follow. Geothermal well field work is in the planning phases. Deer Pointe Elementary site work is substantially bid and construction planning ongoing with the City and Developer. 

 

Milliken Park Elementary Project Update:

Construction at Phase 1 Classrooms and Administration is complete and the area is now occupied.  Phase 2 construction at the East Classroom ‘pod’ is now in process and will continue through mid-April. Installation of new lighting at North Classrooms was completed during the winter holiday break. Cheever Construction continues to coordinate site operations with the school and district administration. Construction will continue over several more future phases allowing the building to remain occupied, and is expected to be complete in December 2023.

 

Lenihan Learning Center Project Update:

Demolition work is complete and the new fluid cooler and platform structure has been set in place.  Rough-ins for new mechanical and electrical are in process, including hydronic piping.  Fire sprinkler piping is in production.  Window frames have been received on site and have begun installation.  Construction is expected to be complete in July 2023.

 

Bell Field Elementary Project Update: 

The Phase 2 Interior design work was completed in December 2022. Bids were received on January 26th, 2023 and were approved by the Board on February 13th. The Interior construction is scheduled to begin in May-June of 2023.

 

Linden Elementary Project Update: 

The Design work is nearly complete and will go out to bid in February 2023. Bids will be received in March 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in May-June of 2023.

 

Johnson Crossing Academic Center Project Update: 

The Design work is nearly complete and will go out to bid in February 2023. Bids will be received in March 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in May-June of 2023.
