Fremont Public Schools Reporting COVID-19 Updates
Fremont, Neb. – (Apr. 9, 2021) Fremont Public Schools released information today related to:
- The number of students and staff absent due to testing positive for COVID-19.
- The number of students and staff in quarantine due to close contact exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 or are awaiting test results.
- The number of students utilizing the virtual learning environment.
- Risk Dial increased this week
- Continuing to follow FPS protocol
- FHS Track Invitational
- FMS Track Invitational
- Elementary Field Day
- FHS Academic Achievement
The breakdown of the numbers is as follows:
Number of Students not in school today due to Positive COVID-19 Test: 5
Number of Students not in school today due to quarantine: 22
Total number of students absent today for any illness: 119
Number of employees not working today due to Positive COVID-19 Test: 0
Number of employees not working today due to quarantine: 0
Number of certified teaching staff not at work today for any reason: 46
The District does not release information by school or grade level in an effort to not share information that is personally identifiable. This would be in violation of FERPA (Federal Education Rights to Privacy Act) and potentially employment and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) laws.
The District also released current enrollment numbers for students participating in the virtual learning environment. As of today, 194 students are enrolled in the virtual school option – this represents approximately 4.01% of the overall student enrollment of 4,839.
The Three Rivers Public Health Risk Dial for Dodge County increased this week from 2.14 to 2.29 – low orange. As a reminder, the Dial utilizes eight data points on a rolling three week average. This week’s increase is due to an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19.
Fremont Public Schools will continue to follow our outlined protocol which includes temperatures being taken upon entry into our facilities and masks will be required at least through the end of the school year.
Fremont High School’s varsity track invitational will be held on Friday, April 16 at 12:30 pm at Appleget Track. All high school students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm that day. As a reminder, spectators are required to wear masks into the outdoor event and then allow them to be removed, provided that appropriate social distancing can be maintained.
Fremont Middle School’s track invitation will be held on Friday, April 30 at 1:00 pm at Appleget Track. All middle school students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm that day. As a reminder, spectators are required to wear masks into the outdoor event and then allow them to be removed, provided that appropriate social distancing can be maintained.
Save the date for Elementary Field Day. Field day will be held on Thursday, May 13 at Appleget Field at Fremont High School.
The Fremont Public School Foundation will be honoring 55 seniors from FHS during the Academic Achievement Awards on Sunday, April 18 at 4:00 pm. Also being honored are the teachers/mentors and parents that help these students succeed. “This is a great opportunity to honor our students for their excellence in the classroom and those who have helped them along the way,” stated Kevin Eairleywine, executive director of the Fremont Public School Foundation.

El Distrito también dio a conocer los números de inscripción actuales para los estudiantes que participan en el entorno de aprendizaje virtual. Al día de hoy, 194 los estudiantes están inscritos en la opción de escuela virtual; esto representa aproximadamente el 4.01% de la inscripción total de estudiantes de 4.839.

La Fundación de las Escuelas Públicas de Fremont honrará a 55 estudiantes de último año de FHS durante los Premios de Logros Académicos el domingo 18 de abril a las 4:00 pm.
